“Man,
as soon as I got introduced to the guitar, everything else pretty much
went out of the window”, Hata laughs. “I think I was around
13 when I first discovered rock´n´roll. My first real album
was AC/DC Live. I picked up me dad’s old acoustic and started
copping Angus’s licks. Then came in Led Zeppelin and Guns N´
Roses and that was it, then!”
When asked about his previous bands, the answer is simple. “I haven’t had any! This is actually my first band. I mean, there’s been some changes in the line-up and me, Sean and Sammy played in the same cover band for a while. But this is the real deal. Something that I and Sammy started out in High School.”
Being a guitar player, Hata’s got his own influences. “Ahh, my favourite guitarists? Well I’d say Jimmy Page and Slash. Angus Young obviously. Joe Perry, Keith Richards, those guys for starters. Then of course Stevie Ray Vaughan and Johnny Winter. Stevie’s amazing.” Hata isn’t very keen on trying out different sounds either.
His set up is quite clear. ”Les Paul through a Marshall. works for me. Most of my heroes have been using that combination, so I figured I can’t go THAT wrong with it, now can I!” Plans for the future are pretty clear too. ”I’d like to make a living out of this. And get as big as possible! I don’t know, I just like to play the guitar.”
